Locus of Control

Refers to an individual’s belief that events are either within their control or are determined by the forces beyond ones control. It can be either internal or external.
1)   Internal locus of control                                    
2)   External locus of control

Externals
1)   Less satisfied with job
2)   Higher absenteeism rates
3)   More alienated from work settings
4)   Less involved in their jobs

Internals
1)   More control over their behavior
2)   More socially active
3)   Active in seeking information to take decisions.
